WARAN - LARES 4 DAYS - 3 NIGTHS

Itinerary

DAY 1. CUSCO- WARAN - KANCHA KANCHA.- Today very early in the morning (5:30 a.m.) we will collect all our passengers from their hotels, and travel by a local bus to Warán ( 2,760 m.a.s.l. or 9,108 ft ), the small village located in the Urubamba Valley. Once there, we will start our trekking going up through this narrow valley and enjoying the great scenery of this area. After 5 hours of walking we will arrive in Kancha Kancha (3,700 m.a.s.l. or 12,210 ft ). Campsite.

DAY 2.- KANCHA KANCHA – QESWARANI.- After breakfast we will continue up the valley, crossing the Pachakúteq Pass ( 4,400 m.a.s.l. or 14,000 ft ). We will also have a look at the Pachakúteq Lake and the Pitusiray snow capped Mountain. In the afternoon we will arrive in Qeswarani ( 3,700 m.a.s.l. or 12,000 ft ). Campsite.

DAY 3.- QESWARANI - LARES HOT SPRINGS.- Early in the morning after breakfast we will continue our trekking going over the second highest pass of Willk’iq’asa ( 4,200 m.a.s.l. or 13,440 ft ). From here we have three more hours to Qeswarani Village. In the afternoon we will continue walking on this beautiful narrow trail looking at the great landscapes with turquoise lagoons until we arrive at the village of Kunkani ( 3,750 m.a.s.l. or 12,000 ft ). After that we will continue descending close to the Lares River, until we arrive at the Hot Springs of Lares. Campsite is close to the thermal pools.

DAY 4.- LARES - CUSCO.- Time to enjoy and explore the Lares area by yourself or to take one more dip in the thermal baths before we board a local bus that will take us back to Cusco.
