OCTAVE PARTY OF THE VIRGEN CANDELARIA 2006 ( folkloric parade) .-
3 DAYS AND 2 NIGHTS.

The most spectacular of all the festivals celebrated in Puno and its environs (and one of the most important in the southern Andes) is the Feast of the Virgen de la Candelaria or the Candlemas Virgin, patroness of Puno. The main day is in February second but the celebrations begin on the previous day with a presentation of the regional ensembles that will participate in the dance competitions and another competitions is in the octave party of the Virgin Candelaria who is celebrated at the stadium, the dancers are organized in special groups called Comparsas, The festival ends with the image of the Virgin returning to the church of San Juan Bautista.

ITINERARY
DAY 1.- CUSCO – PUNO.- Leave at 7:00 a.m.
Arrive at 13.30 p.m and accommodation at your hotel

DAY 2.- PUNO.- 6:00 a.m Breakfast
PUNO.- 8:00 a.m veneration and Parade in honor to the Virgen Candelaria.

DAY 3.- PUNO.- 6:00 a.m Breakfast.
6:30 a.m Transfer Hotel – Harbor.
6.45 a.m Visit Uros – Taquile – Puno.
18:00 pm Arrive to Puno.
20:00 pm Return to Cusco.
