PILGRIMAGE TO THE SANCTUARY OF QOYLLUR RIT´Y 2 DAYS AND 1 NIGHT.- Some of Cusco most important festivals take place in the month of June, Shortly before the Feast of Corpus Christi, many make the pilgrimage to the Santuary of Qoyllur Rit´y in the Chinaq´ara Valley (Province of Quispicanchis) al 4800 m.a.s.l with a mix of pre Hispanic and Christian tradition, five days of dancing and offering honor the mountain spirit or Apu of Ausangate and the Lord of Qoyllur Rit´y.

This pilgrimage draws over 20,000 worshippers, many of them dancers and masked characters, and is considered one of the most important in the America.
